Jerry's Kid's Fishing Day 2002

Oshawa M.P.P. and Ontario's new Minister Of Natural Resources, Jerry Ouellette and his entire family,  South Central Ontario Big Game Association, Pickering Rod and Gun Club,  Ontario Federation Of Anglers and Hunters, Ontario Ministry Of Natural Resources, Ducks Unlimited, Linwood Acres Trout Farm, Oshawa Community Health, Simcoe Hall,  East View Hall, North View Hall and many volunteers participated in a “Kids Fishing Day” conceived of by avid outdoorsman, Jerry Ouellette.

This years event was on held Sat. June 8th 2002, at Heber Downs Conservation Area in Whitby, On.  Rods, reels, bait and expert help were supplied to the kids participating. Fishing for one of the hundreds of stocked trout was foremost on the agenda for most of the youngsters, but many were thrilled with the nature walk, dog exhibits, Fly casting exhibitions and their encounters with baby snapping turtles, frogs, local birds etc.  A barbeque and drinks quenched the thirsts and hungers of these future outdoors men and women.
